Purpose

“IWT is organized as a forum for individuals interested in woodturning. The primary purposes of IWT are consistent with the fundamental purposes of AAW, “to provide Information, Education and organization to those interested in turning wood.” The membership is drawn from Independence, MO and surrounding areas, but is not limited to Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri.”

“President’s Message”

Another year is ending and for most not soon enough. I would like to thank all the members for the loyalty during this trying year for meetings. We all had to learn to meet virtually and found out new ways to use our phones, iPad, and laptops to achieve this. The officers all are grateful for those members who did demos during the year. We know more will step up in the coming months. Usually right now we would be planning for the annual holiday banquet. As with how the rest of the year went, this month meeting will be virtually. We are still having the Ornament contest and will be giving away Gift Certificates. So, if I do not see you at this months meeting have a great holiday season and look forward to a new year.

On another point, remember this is the holiday season. Sometimes it is a hard time due to numerous reasons. One thing we can all do is reach out by phone, text, email, or social media and let them know someone is thinking about them.

Keep turning and be safe. See you all at the next meeting on November 17th.

  • As mentioned in the meeting, here is the link to the More Woodturning Magazine.  Click on that link and you can take a look at a sample edition of the magazine.

Keep turning safely and we’ll see you at the meeting.
