Here are a few things I’ve been working on while being confined to the cabin. First are a couple of boxes inspired by Chip Siskey from the Northland. They are now in the possession of my daughters. They are maple and dyed with Artisan dyes from Craft Supplies, USA and finished with rattle can lacquer. Next is a little sycamore crotch bowl. It is dyed with Briwax dye diluted somewhat to allow the figure/grain to show. The dye was from Metro Hardwoods. During this time of staying healthy, I thought it would be wise to have more fruit. So, this is what I found in the shop off the lathe. The apple is apple wood (with walnut stem) and the pear (with walnut stem), lime, avocado, orange, and lemon are sycamore. The apple is natural, and the others are dyed with Artisan dyes from Craft Supplies, USA and finished with lacquer. The red dyed sycamore sphere is actually a pretty decently spherical sphere (one of my first). The black stand is ash (dyed with shoe dye) and the ring is also sycamore. Dye is again Artisan dye from Craft Supplies, USA and finished with lacquer. I would like to encourage all members or even challenge you to post your show and tell items or what you’ve been working on here.
